Carol Rosenfeld

“Being taught by Carol Rosenfeld was one of the greatest privileges of my life. I learnt so much about the craft of acting and the commitment to truth from her. Carol is with me every step of the way, cheering me on in all the good bits and shaking a fist at the bad. Do not miss the chance to work with her. She is an absolute living legend and we are blessed to have her in our midst.” – Kerry Armstrong

Carol Rosenfeld began teaching at HB Studio, New York, 50 years ago, working along side two of the greatest acting teachers of the 20th Century, Uta Hagen and Herbert Berghof.

“Uta and Herbert embraced me, saw my talent and nurtured it. I entered an environment in which artistic freedom flourished, where respect for the art of acting was assumed; I was given the space to find my own way as a teaching artist. I love the work and everything about it.” – Carol Rosenfeld

Since Uta’s passing in 2004 Carol has been the Director of the Hagen Institute at HB and continues on the legacy, values and principals of its founding members.

Carol also authored her widely recognised Actors Workbook; Acting and Living in Discovery as well as the Hagen Technique chapter in Training for the American Actor.

We are delighted to welcome Carol to 16th Street.
