The Chubbuck Technique | Acting Fundamentals

The Chubbuck Technique | Acting Fundamentals for Beginners

Designed to introduce the techniques and practices of the greats. Acting fundamental short courses are created for talented beginners ready to start their acting training.

During this 6-week course, accredited teacher Lyndelle Green will guide actors through The Chubbuck Technique. Ivana Chubbuck believes in the power of the actor. Her technique teaches actors how to win and fight for their character’s objective. A great foundation for any performance.

“The Chubbuck Technique teaches actors how to use their emotions not as an end result, but as a way to empower a goal. Actors must understand themselves thoroughly and have the tools to break down a script in order to make interesting and dynamic behaviour appear and feel like a subconscious process. The Chubbuck Technique stimulates this behaviour, allowing for this natural and powerful human drive to be realised”. – Ivana Chubbuck, Acting Teacher and creator of The Chubbuck Technique.

In this course, you will learn the 12 Steps of the Chubbuck Technique to create characters who bring hope and inspiration to an audience, by their unrelenting need to prevail. This is why we go to the theatre or cinema.
You will learn the tools you need to access these human drives which live in all of us.
You will be assigned a scene and rehearse with your scene partner in preparation for class to refine your understanding of this technique.

“The Chubbuck Technique taught me that I didn’t have to hide from myself, that there was freedom in vulnerability and that I could integrate everything that has happened in my life to become empowered” – Lyndelle Green.
