Kim is the founder and artistic director of 16th Street Actors Studio. She is known and respected as one of Australia’s most esteemed acting coaches. She is trained with some of the world’s most renowned acting teachers: Uta Hagen in NYC, Yat Malmgren in London and Ivana Chubbuck in L.A.
She is one of the few accredited Chubbuck technique and Uta Hagen technique teachers in Australia.
Known for creating and empowering free & brave actors, Julia Grace joins 16th Street Actors Studio from Chicago’s Tony awarded Steppenwolf Theatre Company. Mentored by their premier theatre artists in all techniques underpinning the training and ethos of the company, Julia offers a solid understanding of its groundbreaking and innovative training.
She has also trained at Black Box Acting Chicago, iO Chicago, studied with The Victorian College of the Arts and worked with The Melbourne Theatre Company, Darlinghurst Theatre Company, The Sydney International Arts Festival, The Hayloft Project and has appeared in numerous commercials, television and short films.
Iain is at the forefront of directing and a true champion for truthful storytelling. Well recognised as one of Australia’s finest directors of actors, all of whom are regularly awarded Best Actor awards here and overseas; not to mention his own compelling 34 total award nominations and 4 wins for Best Play. His most recent win was of the 2017 Stuart Wagstaff Memorial Award for Best Director in Sydney.
Iain uses a process dedicated to empowering actors through story supported by the social sciences, interpersonal neurobiology and hammers them into practicality based soundly on Stanislavski principles.
